  • 100g cabbage, cut into large chunks
  • 1/2 onion, peeled and sliced 1cm
  • 100g boneless pork shoulder, sliced and cut into small chunks
  • 2 medium egg noodles
  • 2 tbsp vegetable, corn or sunflower oil
  • salt and freshly ground black peppercorns
  • 1 tsp kikkoman soy sauce
  • 3 tbsp semi-sweet sauce
  • dried bonito shavings for topping
  • green dried laver for topping

  • Boil the noodles for about 4 minutes, drain well and coat with 1 tbsp of the oil.
  • Heat the 1 tbsp oil a large frying pan or wok over a medium-high heat and add the pork.
  • Stir into the cabbage and onion until softened. Season lightly with the salt and pepper.
  • Add the noodlles and continue to stir-fry for 2-3 minutes until hot.
  • Pour the soy sauce and semi-sweet sauce and cook for a few minutes. Adjust with salt and pepper.
  • Divide in 2 and sprinkle with the dried bonito and laver over the top. Serve immediately.
