Ingredients : Serves 4

  • 500g x 1 pack ground veal or lean ground beef (Typically 10% fat)
  • 2 onions---2, chopped
  • 100g frozen burdocks
  • 1 any kind of apple peeled cored and cut into 1cm cubes.
  • 1 tsp vegetable, corn or sunflower oil
  • 2 tbsp curry powder
  • 1 tbsp cumin seeds
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 400ml stock, made with 1 Vegetable or Beef Oxo cube
  • 2 tbsp tomato ketchup
  • 1 tbsp kikkoman soy sauce
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • freshly ground black peppercorns
  • 4 tbsp frozen peas or 1/2 green pepper, chopped

  • Heat the oil in a frying pan over midium heat, fry the onios until softened and stir in the beef until it changes colour.
  • Add the frozen burdocks and apples. Mix together and add the all spices.
  • Pour the stock, add the tomato ketchup soy sauce and salt. Stir occasionally to prevent them from sticking for about 15minutes until it starts to thicken.
  • Add the peas or pepper, cook for 5minutes or until softened and adjust with salt and peppersorns.
  • Serve with boiled rice.
